![]() Catherine Mather, a history and more.Residing on the South Coast of Eastern Australia, Catherine Mather has been involved with porcelain dolls since 1986. Having a background of several years working with masquerade costumes, creating anything from "Pink Hippopotamus" to "Marie Antoinette", ( After completing 3 years of Fashion Design Collage of course) led the way into sculpting a doll, in her own style. Victoria was Catherine's first original doll in 1988, an Edwardian child doll laying on her tummy, lost to the world reading her favorite story book. Catherine Mather has been sculpting original art dolls for well over 10 years and is well respected for her artistry and originality in doll design. Producing limited edition collectable art dolls and commercial mould designs for the hobby doll market. Catherine has a good working knowledge of all facets of the doll industry. Her ability to translate images in to clay has come from her observation of the human body, and is an on going learning experience which she expresses in her realistic positioned, full porcelain art dolls.
